Motorola Mobile Gadget

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Motorola CLIQ Android Phone To Launch Next Month For $199.99
Motorola just hasn't seemed itself since the RAZR went out of style, but it's hoping to re-make itself with the CLIQ. The company's first Android device has a lot riding on it, and T-Mobile is hoping to bring even more users over who might be loyal to the brand or simply interested in getting their hands around the MOTOBLUR interface.

Originally announced a few weeks back alongside few details, T-Mobile and Motorola have jointly announced today that the smartphone is fairly close to release. The 3G/Wi-Fi capable handset will be available for existing T-Mobile customers that are anxious to upgrade on October 19th, or just under a month from today.

Between October 19 and November 1, only existing users will be able to get "early access" to the phone. For everyone else, you'll have to wait until November 2 before buying. On that date, the CLIQ should be widely available at all T-Mobile stores, bringing users into the social networking scene whether they like it or not. The only issue could be the $199.99 price, which is valid on a new two-year contract. That's the same price AT&T is charging for the iPhone 3GS and a full $100 more than the older iPhone 3G, and while we know T-Mobile plans are generally cheaper, it could still be a hard sell based on sticker shock alone.

Dell Ships Gorgeous 16" Thin-And-Light Latitude Z For $2000

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Dell Ships Gorgeous 16" Thin-And-Light Latitude Z For $2000
We thought Dell's Studio XPS 16 was fairly thin when we reviewed it earlier this month, but it would look downright chubby next to the company's latest 16" machine. What's easily the world's thinnest and lightest 16" laptop, the Latitude Z is aimed at business professionals who are looking to get ahead partially on the sexiness of the machine they carry in their briefcase.

Think we're kidding? Dell itself admits that this machine targets "impression makers, such as entrepreneurs, attorneys, creative professionals, salespeople and leading higher education faculty." Bold, no? It's essentially the planet's first 16" thin-and-light notebook, starting at just 4.5lbs. with a four-cell battery and measuring just 0.57" thin. Other specifications include a 1600x900 WLED display, a multi-touch touchpad, backlit keyboard, EdgeTouch (which allows users to interact with commonly used applications and media controls through a touch interface that is on the bezel of the system’s screen) and FaceAware lock-out technology that automatically locks out other users when a user steps away from the laptop.

In addition to these features, the Latitude Z is available with WLAN, Bluetooth and optional 3G WWAN mobile broadband, not to mention a 2MP webcam, Core 2 Duo CPU, an integrated UWB radio and an optional wireless dock that supports DVI and USB. Heck, those with loads of cash can ever order one with dual SSDs! Dell is also using this machine to debut Latitude ON, an instant & always-on connection to email, web, contacts and calendar (detailed more below)

The Latitude Z is available starting today in select countries in Europe and Asia, as well as Canada and the U.S., starting at $1,999, and more details are available at www.dell.com/latitude

Hardware Review

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • AMD Athlon II X4 Affordable Quad-core Processors

AMD always come late to the show but when they arrive, they astonish others with their ultimate low price offerings compared to that of Intel. Their latest Athlon II X4 is the world’s first quad core CPU to be priced at less than $100. Their earlier quad core processors called Phenom II X4 processors were priced above $200. On the Intel’s part their Core 2 Quad and Core 2 Extreme processors are always on the higher side of price range. This means that if you want the cheapest quad core processor you have to go with the AMD Athlon II X4 processors.

The new Athlon II X4 is, I believe, the smallest quad core X86 processor around. At 169 mm squared it is smaller than even the Core 2 Quad (2 x 107 mm square). This means that AMD can pack a lot more dies on a wafer with the Athlon II X4, and they can sell it at a far lower price than the 264 mm squared Phenom II. Excising the L3 cache also allows AMD a lot more leeway in the TDPs of these processors, and bins are likely not nearly as tight as what we may have seen with the Phenom II when it was originally released. The L3 cache eats a lot of power, and is a significant source of heat for these modern processors.

The new quad-core AMD Athlon II X4 processors performed very well, especially given their relatively low price points. Despite its lack of L3 cache, the new Propus core used in the Athlon II X4s perform extremely well compared to their full-fledged Deneb-based siblings. Comparatively, the new Athlon II X4 processors are also very competitive with Intel’s low-end quad-core offerings. However, gaming performance suffered due to the lack of L3 cache. Overall though, the Athlon II X4 processors are surprisingly good performers.

Yahoo! rolls out first video ad in new marketing campaign... about You

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  • Yahoo! rolls out first video ad in new marketing campaign... about You

Yahoo! is embarking on a new marketing campaign to convince users that the company's web services are all about "You." The mission is to reposition Yahoo! as a consumer-focused company. A few days ago, we mentioned that Yahoo!, for example, was unloading enterprise email service Zimbra and classifieds company HotJobs, which aren't really aligned with the new mission statement.

That said, if you look at the company's first TV spot for the campaign, you'd be hard pressed to tell exactly what that mission was. For about 55 seconds, Yahoo! clearly wants you to hear the word "you" a lot. And that ad is certainly dynamic, features vibrant colors, and locations from five different countries.

But you have to wait until the last few seconds of the ad to even find out what the company is... and there's absolutely nothing in the ad to explain how you'll be able to "consumer, share, buzz, destroy, earn, flirt, or watch." Of course, a TV spot that showed Yahoo! Messenger, Mail, Buzz, Video, or other web-services would be a heck of a lot less interesting.

What do you think? Is the new ad effective? If you haven't visited Yahoo! in a while, does it make you want to give the company another try?

The Nokia Pulse Phone

Yanko Designs, one of the most prominent name in concept gadgets designers, has come up with their latest Nokia Concept Phone, which uses a tiny LED projector that can be paired with the Nokia phone for operability or simply said, the mobile phone functions as a remote control to the Pulse.

All you need is just a flat surface, a wall or a table to start playing them from your Nokia and experience the rich 1000 ANSI lumens brightness that produces 16.7 million colors right from the lens
of your Nokia Projector Phone.

Or would you like to multiply the entertainment experience by viewing images and videos on your mobile on a contrastingly large (15- to 60-inch images projected at 7.87 feet) display that should support a 1500:1 contrast ratio for WXGA (1280×768) resolution.

Nokia Pulse also functions as an NXT speaker with Dolby Sound to give you a rich sound quality.Below the rotating projector head are two web cameras
,one on each side and a set of stereo microphones are closely secluded just next to it. Nokia Projector Phone also boasts a main power switch on one of its sides to switch the projector on and off.

Roleplay : Nokia Pusle Projector

The Nokia Pulse Projector needs to rest on a wireless charging station for a battery recharge and it is good to know that you will not have to tangle with the wires.

It is absolutely wireless and uses the Wi-Fi on your Nokia Cell Phone to upload videos, presentations and any other multimedia content that can be played on the Pulse Projector.

We have seen a few gadgets in the recent past that could be termed as mini or pocket able projectors. But this one is absolutely an eye catcher and an attention stealer. There are no any official announcements on whether the Nokia Pulse Projector would be developed or would it just remain a geek’s impractical dreamy possession. No concrete revelations yet.
