Dell has finally fully disclosed the specifications of its newly crafted ultra-thin notebook, the Adamo XPS. The laptop is only .4" (just over a centimeter) thick and weighs just over 3lbs.

Specs include a 13.4" LED-backlit 720p display, 1.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo ultra-low voltage CPU, GS45 integrated graphics, 4GB of DDR3-800 RAM, a 128GB SSD, 802.11a/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1, DisplayPort, two USB 2.0 ports, a 20WHr (about 2.5 hours of life) or 40WHr (a bit over 5 hours of life) Li-Ion battery, and Windows 7 Home Premium X64.

The system ships with Ethernet, VGA and HDMI dongles, as well as an optional DVD burner, Blu-ray drive, and a 250GB or 500GB external HDD. Other noteworthy features include built-in location awareness, an unconventional hinge placement (which angles the laptop), capacitive touch-sensitive latching mechanism, and a full-sized keyboard with aluminum capped chiclet-style keys.

The Dell Adamo XPS' design appears to be very Mac-inspired -- and that includes its asking price. The notebook starts at $1,799 and will reportedly ship in time for the holidays.

ony has presented a couple of laptops today, and one of them is the fashionable VAIO CW.

The 14-inch laptop boasts a 16:9 aspect ratio and can be considered a mid-range unit. It will run Windows 7 as the operative system, and in the inside you can find a 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo processor, 4GB of memory RAM, and a GeForce GT 230M for the graphics. In terms of storage capacity, there is a 320GB hard-drive. The Sony VAIO CW will become available later this month, for $850, but there should be other versions of the laptop with different processors, which will make the price go up or down.

The other top-notch models come with a 2.66GHz Core 2 Quad processor, and 6GB of RAM, plus 1TB on the hard-drive, and instead of a DVD writer it has a Blu-ray drive, and a better graphics card which is the GeForce GT 240M. You can already pre-order a Sony VAIO L, but the shipping will only start on November.

We thought Dell's Studio XPS 16 was fairly thin when we reviewed it earlier this month, but it would look downright chubby next to the company's latest 16" machine. What's easily the world's thinnest and lightest 16" laptop, the Latitude Z is aimed at business professionals who are looking to get ahead partially on the sexiness of the machine they carry in their briefcase.

Think we're kidding? Dell itself admits that this machine targets "impression makers, such as entrepreneurs, attorneys, creative professionals, salespeople and leading higher education faculty." Bold, no? It's essentially the planet's first 16" thin-and-light notebook, starting at just 4.5lbs. with a four-cell battery and measuring just 0.57" thin. World's largest manufacturer of cellphones Nokia is all set to foray into laptop market with revelation of its upcoming mini-laptop "Nokia Booklet 3G", powered with Intel Atom processor and Microsoft Windows 7 as operating-system the handy laptop packs quite a punch with features like 10.1-inch HD display, 3G/HSPA ready with hot-swappable SIM card facility, HDMI port for HD video out, Wi-Fi, assisted-GPS with Ovi Maps, camera, bluetooth and card-reader - all this packed into an gadget less then a kilogram in weight and 2cm thick.
